FAQ

What can I expect during my photo shoot session?
Depending on the location, once I arrive I will asses the best places to take the pictures or you may already have a favorite place or room to take the pictures in. If there is a nice location near to you I may suggest that as an alternative to your home.
What is your style?
Understanding my style is essential to know before you book me for your portrait. My style is a mixture of non-traditional posed, creative and candid photography. Take a look through my portfolio and my blog and you’ll see a mixture of fun yet creative imagery. Don’t be surprised if I make you all stand on your heads or jump in the pool full clothed (not mandatory of course!). I like the type of clients that will enjoy themselves and have fun. If you prefer the more traditional posed portraits then there are plenty of other photographers that I can recommend who offer this style.
What should we wear?
Wear something casual and real, I understand that it is easy to all wear jeans and white shirts… but honestly, how often do you all go out in public dressed the same? I much prefer everyone’s individual styles to shine through. Therefore I suggest casual clothes for the parents and something cool and trendy for the kids. Don’t worry though I’ll provide you with a complete what to wear guide that will give you some ideas and inspiration as well as lots of links to local retailers that will keep you busy shopping before your shoot.
How long will the session take?
Most sessions take between 1-2 hours and over multiple locations with lots of opportunity for outfit changes. Sometimes if we’re having so much fun we’ll shoot longer!
Do we need to bring or prepare anything?
Bring with you multiple outfits (especially for young kids) and any cool props such as hats, sunglasses, trendy shoes etc. For young children having a familiar toy nearby works wonders. If you allow candy have some handy – bribery works wonders!
How many final images do I receive?
In a typical 2 hour session you can expect to receive between 40-70 digital images. 1 hr sessions between 30-40. Also the number of locations, wardrobe changes and use of props (hats/glasses etc.) greatly affect the number of images you will receive.
